Generators and Uninterrupted Power Supplies are the most popular backup power systems in the market. While generators have their advantage, they can be a hassle due to the noise they produce and the maintainance they require. A UPS, however, is a relatively carefree piece of kit. It has a battery charging circuitry attached to a 12v battery, its quiet, though not quite as efficient as the generator but integrates seamlessly into the household electric setup.
There are various 12 volt batteries that can be used in a UPS. There is the lead acid car battery and then there is the maintance free or the sealed lead acid battery which can be used. Usually a 12 volt battery with a high amperage is used to provide stable portable power.
